Bakgrunn
Målet for meg er at bildene skal ha et innhold.
Tilskueren kan la seg trekke inn i en historie– noen ganger
en stemning mer enn konkrete hendelser.
My goal is that my paintings shall express something,
tell a story. I hope the onlooker will allow himself
to get involved with the story – often consisting
more of moods than incidents.
Kari Nordheim (født i Salangen i Troms, 1956) bor og arbeider i Nittedal. Hun har atelier på Burås gård i Hakadal. Kari Nordheim har i tillegg til hovedfag i fysiolog, tre års grunn-utdanning i kunst og håndverk , (derav to år på Strykejernet Kunstskole) samt to år fordypning i abstrakt maleri med veiledning av Mali Roald. Medlem av NBK.
Jeg ønsker å fremheve kontraster i bildet gjennom fargebruk, struktur, linjer og flater slik jeg finner det hos bl.a. Ludvig Karsten, Kjell Nupen, Inger Sitter og Per Kirkeby. Gjennom å ha innøvet disse teknikkene er jeg langt på vei i stand til å være tilstede i prosessen for å gir hvert bilde en illusjon av konsentrert kraft, dybde og spenning.
Background
Kari Nordheim, born in Northern Norway in 1956, lives and works in the countryside outside Oslo, where she has a studio in connection to a farming estate. Her education, in addition to a master in physiology, is three years basic training in fine art, of these two years at Strykejernet Kunstskole, plus two years of intense practical work in abstract painting under the supervision of Mali Roald. Member of NBK.
I intend to emphasize the contrasts in the painting by use of colours, structures, lines and surfaces, alike those that can be found in paintings of among others Ludvig Karsten, Kjell Nupen, Inger Sitter and Per Kirkeby. After having studied and practised these techniques thoroughly, I am now able to be present in the ongoing process and give every painting the illusion of concentrated power, depth and tension.
